Tammy Sikes

Hi my name is Tammy Sikes, and I am the founder of Chain Breakin Recovery.

I grew up in a law enforcement family - my mom was in the field - but I chose a very different path. I went down a road of alcohol, drugs, and toxic relationships. My choices put my kids through years of chaos and pain. I spent time in jail, and honestly, I probably should have ended up in a mental institution. I was completely out of control - crazy by my own admission.

Eventually, the darkness took over. I reached a place where I couldn't see any light. I was suicidal. I believed my life was hopeless.

And then, there was Christ.

In my most broken moment, He met me. He pulled me out of the pit, restored my hope, and gave me a reason to live. From that moment on, I've dedicated my life to helping others find the same freedom I found.

I became part of my home church, Waves of Joy, whose mission is simple: Deliver. Disciple. Deploy. Chain Breakin Recovery has taken that mission to heart. We've chosen to step outside the walls of the church to bring revival to communities, reaching people right where they are, and walking with them through the process of deliverance, discipleship, and deployment into their own purpose.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's this: no one is too far gone for God's grace. John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

For a long time, I lived in the grip of addiction. Meth had a hold on me in prison for three years. I felt hopeless, ashamed, and convinced that my life was beyond repair.

But in the middle of my brokenness, God met me. He didn't leave me where I was, He reached down and saved me. Through His mercy, He broke the chains of addiction and gave me a new beginning.

I have now been clean and sober for over 12 years, not by my strength, but by His. Each day I wake up with a new purpose: to save Him and to walk in the freedom He has given me.

God has restored relationships, renewed my hope, and given me a future I never thought possible. My favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11, speaks directly to my life:
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

I am living proof that God can take a life broken by addiction, sin, and failure, and turn it into a testimony of His power and grace. If He can do it for me, He can do it for anyone.

My drug use started around 15 years old, and over the course of 23 years I juggled addictions to alcohol, pills (of any and every kind), fentanyl, and methamphetamines.  In 2019 I found myself in a darkness so deep I began to question if I would ever see light again.  So I wrote a prayer asking God to bring me back to life (I was already dead and I knew it).  And being the faithful God that He is, He delivered.  It didn’t happen how I wanted it ,or as quickly as I wanted it. You see, I fought hard to hang on to my old life and my vices that I had just asked to be set free of, but God fought harder to set me free and for that I will praise Him forever.

I cam from a dark place, battling addiction for 16 long years, wrestling with meth, Xanax, heroin, and fentanyl. My life reached a critical point when I overdosed twice, but on April 19, 2024, something miraculous happened: I found God, and He transformed my life. Since that day, I've embraced sobriety, and I thank Him every day for saving me. Without Jesus, I wouldn't be here to share my story. Reuniting with my youngest daughter and grandson has been a profound blessing, and I hold onto hope that I will reconnect with my other children and grandchildren as well. Each day is a gift, and I'm grateful for the chance to rebuild my life.
